Matías Valenzuela participated in Chile Day in London.
First, he attended the panel “Fintech: From Law to Reality,” where he had the opportunity to ask Solange Berstein, President of the Chilean Financial Market Commission (CMF), about the measures being taken to ensure that the process of registration and authorization of fintech companies in the Financial Service Providers Registry is handled efficiently, both in terms of time and procedure.
Later, Matías attended a conversation between the Minister of Finance, Mario Marcel, and the Dean of the LSE School of Public Policy at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and former Minister of Finance of Chile, Andrés Velasco. This event brought together more than 200 attendees. At the end of this insightful discussion, Matías asked Minister Marcel about the actions that the Government of Chile, particularly the Ministry of Finance, is implementing to improve the efficiency of public spending and to build investor confidence amid tax uncertainty.
Lastly, Matías joined a roundtable discussion with the Superintendent of Pensions of Chile, Osvaldo Macías, where the topic of AFPs (Chilean Pension Fund Administrators) investing in venture capital funds was debated. This compelling discussion was featured in Economía y Negocios in El Mercurio’s edition on Wednesday, September 11.
